Visiting the Holy Kaaba is once in a lifetime opportunity for most of the pilgrimage. Pilgrims make an all-out effort to perform all the rituals and offer a visit to all the ziyarah. Trusting the travel agent is not enough, you need to do research on your own so that none of the ziyarah places is missed. Here is a complete list of Ziyarat places in Makkah.

Masjid Al Haram

The Masjid Al Haram is in Makkah houses a significant number of Ziyarah such as Kaaba, Kiswa, Hajr-e-Aswad, Maqam-e-Ibrahim and Safa and Marwa. Almost the whole city of Makkah during the time of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is right now within in Masjid-al-Haram.

Masjid e Aisha

Masjid e Aisha is the second largest mosque of Makkah and a must visit Ziyarat place in Makkah which can accommodate 47,084 worshipers. It is the spot from where pilgrims assume Ihram for their Umrah.

Jabal Al Rahma

Jannat al Mualla

It is a Cemetery in Makkah which is also known as Al Hajun. This is the cemetery that was frequently visited by the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. Some of the holiest personalities are buried at Jannat Al Mualla, to name a few and that’s the reason it is one of the most visited Ziyarat places in Makkah:

Abd Manaf: Great, great-grandfather of the Holy Prophet [SAW]

Hashim: Great-grandfather of the Holy Prophet [SAW]

Abdul Muttalib: Grandfather of the Holy Prophet [SAW]

Amina: Mother of the Holy Prophet [SAW]

Khadija: First wife of the Holy Prophet [SAW] and mother of Sayyida Fatima [RA]

Qasim: son of the Holy Prophet [SAW] who died in his infancy

Jabal Nur or the cave of Hira

It is the mountain on which the cave of Hira is located. The historic cave of Hira is the one where the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W would meditate before his PBUH prophethood. All those people who are physically fit to climb up the mountain visit Jabal Nur or the cave of Hira at least once in their lives to see the place where Prophet Muhammad S.A.W used to spend time alone. This is the reason, it is one of the most frequently visited Ziyarat places in Makkah.

Cave of Thaur

The cave of Thaur is the one where the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W hid while he was migrating from Makkah to Madinah. This is the place where a spider made a web and Non-Muslims were not able to detect Prophet Muhammad S.A.W and his companions.

Pilgrims coming from all around the world visit the cave of thaur to see the place where the miracle took place. It is one of the visited frequently visited Ziyarat places of Makkah and that’s the reason you will always find it overcrowded. Birthplace of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W

The national library of Makkah is located just near the “Suq Lail”. The library is also known as “Maktaba Makkah al-Mukarramah”. This is the very place where Prophet Muhammad S.A.W was born on the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal.

Masjid Al-Jinn

This mosque is located at Al Haram Street. Tradition narrates that once prophet Muhammad S.A.W was reciting the Holy Quran there when a group of Jinns passing by stood to hear more recitation. Many people who visit Makkah and Madina try to offer at least one prayer in Masjid al-Jinn which is a Ziyarat place in Makkah. Masjid e Bilal

The residence of Hazrat Bilal was changed into a mosque by the Saudi Government.

Mount Abu Qubais

Standing very close to this mount, Prophet Muhammad S.A.W performed the miracle of splitting the moon into two halves. This enormous structure which is located directly adjacent to the Mount Safa is the location of Mount Abu Qubais.

Muzdalifah

The area between the Valley of Muhassar and the Ma’zamayn is Muzdalifah. Muzdalifah is four kilometers long and has been referred to in the Holy Quran. People who come to Makkah to perform Umrah visit this ziyarat place as staying a night in Muzdalifah is one of the steps of Hajj.

“When you leave Arafat, then remember Allah at the Mash’arul Haram.” (‘The Sacred Monument’, referring to Muzdalifah according to Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). The mosque Masharul Haram is where Prophet stayed during his Hajj.

Masjid Al Khayf

Masjid Al Khayf is located in the south of Mina at the foot of a mountain in close approximation to Jamarat. At this place, not only Prophet Muhammad S.A.W has offered prayers but many other Prophets had offered Salah.

Jamarat

These are the three pillars where the Hajj pilgrim stones the devil as one of the essential rituals of Hajj. While you will hardly find any place to stop here during Hajj, nobody comes here for the remaining 11 months.

Grave of Sayyidah Maymuna R.A

Sayyidah Maymuna R.A is one of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. ‎ As a part of the signing of the treaty of Hudaibiyah, The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) went to the city of Makkah to perform Umrah.

It is over there that Hazrat Maymoona R.A proposed marriage to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) which he accepted. The resting place of Maymoonah R.A is in a locality named Sharif, around 20 km from Makkah.

Masjid Juranah

Masjid Al Nimra

This is the mosque from where the last sermon by the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W was delivered. The masjid Nimrah was built in the second century of Islam.

Masjid Al Hudaibiyah

The mosque is built at the place where the treaty of Hudaibiyah was signed. It has become one of the most frequently visited Ziyarat places in Makkah.

Graveyard of Shabeka

It is the graveyard where people before the advent of Islam would bury their daughters. Summaya bint Khalid, the first female martyr of Islam is also believed to be buried here. Perhaps this is the reason it has become one of the most frequently visited Ziyarat places in Makkah.

Tuwa well

The place is well known as Tuwa, where the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) stopped when he performed Hajj. He supposedly took a bath in the water of this well.

The Kiswa Factory

The kiswa factory is the factory that makes cloth of the Holy Kaaba. In order to visit the Kiswa factory, you need a special permit to visit this place in Makkah.
