Can I Come Back To Saudi Arabia On New

2015-Aug-13

A few days ago, we have published an article enlightening the rules for expatriates who want to leave Saudi Arabia and they have unpaid personal loan or credit card debt. If you want to read about it, check this link – Can I get Final Exit if I have unpaid loan/credit card debt?[irp]
This article is written for the next stage of final exit. We are discussing a scenario when an expatriate has left Saudi Arabia with some unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt. The amount of debt is still payable to the bank. So, can he enter to Saudi Arabia on a new visa if he has the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt?
If you had the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt at the time of leaving Saudi Arabia but you left for final exit and now you want to come back to Saudi Arabia on a new visa, the most important factor is to check if your bank has registered a complaint against you in the police.
As a rule of thumb, if the bank has registered a complaint against you for the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt, you are in trouble as immigration officer will detain you at the airport. You will be required to pay off the entire unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt along with interest.
After that, you will be deported back to your home country. You had committed fraud with the bank by not letting them know that you are going without paying them money and they will not let you enter to Saudi Arabia. There is no place for fraudulent people in Saudi Arabia.

However, if the bank has not registered a complaint against you, you have nothing to worry about. The immigration officer will let you enter to Saudi Arabia. However, I strongly recommend you to pay off the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt at your earliest.
If you have the unpaid amount of loan or credit card debt in some other country including GCC countries and even if they have registered a complaint against you in police, you should not be worried to enter to Saudi Arabia unless the amount of loan is too much. I personally think you can take the risk if amount of loan is up to SR 20,000/-
Now the question arises, how can you check if the bank has registered a complaint against you with police? Well, unfortunately, there is no way to check if the bank has registered a complaint against you.
Generally, banks do not register a complaint about a few loans like up to SR 10,000/-. If the amount of loan is up to SR 20,000 there are 50/50 chances of police complaint being registered and if the unpaid amount is more than that, I think there is a high risk of police complaint being registered.
Will Saudi Embassy in my home country process my visa if I have a police complaint? Yes, they will process your visa without any trouble. I personally think that even they do not know that a complaint has been registered under your name. I think MOI wants you to come to Saudi Arabia if there is a police complaint against you. In this way, they will get an opportunity to grab you.
