Egyptian Zoo Painted Stripes On The Donkey To Make It Look Like A Zebra

2018-Jul-29

We know that the donkey and zebra look alike apart from their color. But is it a good idea to paint a donkey to look like a zebra and then place it in a zoo?
Well, whether it is a good idea or not, this topic will be discussed later when you will know that a zoo in Cairo, Egypt went with it and painted a donkey to look like a zebra.
The zoo authorities certainly thought that no one would notice that they had painted a donkey in black and white stripes to pass it off as a donkey but all didn’t go as planned.
How was it identified? The zoo opened recently and is located in Cairo’s International Garden Municipal Park. Their plan to deceive people was exposed by Mahmoud A. Sarhan who visited the zoo on July 21st.

Sarhan noticed something unusual about the zebra and went close to have a better look. Observing the animal’s skin, Sarhan noticed that the animal’s skin was painted. He took a picture of the animal and posted it on Facebook for everyone to see.
Vets have confirmed the news: The vets confirmed that the animal is indeed a donkey and not a zebra whereas the director of International Gardens Park, Mohamed Sultan denied the allegations. People on social media had a good laugh on this fail attempt and mocked the zoo for the little trick that they had played.
Some said that the next thing this zoo would do is to bring in a cat and call it a cub. Others mocked the donkey for having applied for immigration. Others called it the story of the week as it went viral but the main point is that the zoo wanted to deceive the people which is an immoral act.

The Statement from the Zoo Management: The zoo management has denied that the donkey is a fake despite its suspiciously long ears and lack of distinctive mane.
The creature in the zoo was noticeably different from the real thing. Whatever you say, at least I was not expecting this kind of act from a national ZOO.
